I am thinking if i should sit for the CFA exam in this December. The preparatory notes, courses and application fee will cost almost 16k or so. I dont know if I can apply CEF (the government funds for continued education). I wanna go to Xinjiang in mid/late September, so I need to skip a few classes. Dont know if I can get the requirement attendance % to get CEF refund. I am not sure if I can claim the money from the company. Some other colleagues did it before, but my situation can be different due to the nature of my team/my job. I think I have to find some right time to talk with my boss for that. Hum... I didnt take CFA because i find it not very useful, in terms of both practical usefulness and resume polishing. However, if I really take a gap year and go abroad next year, the qualifications of CFA L1 or L2 MAY help a bit when i return to the industry. In fact I don't know. I get no idea. Hum...

Dear Vida,

Seems you are stuck between career and interest. I guess you will choose to take up both!!

Work hard, study hard, play hard. :)

Best wishes,
