I saw the following quote from the Lonely Planet's website: China isn't a country - it's a different world.Unless you have a couple of years and unlimited patience, it's best to follow a loose itinerary here, such as following the Silk Road, sailing down the Yangzi River, or exploring the Dr Seuss landscape of Guangxi Province. ----------------------------------- A few years ago, I always dreamed to have an extensive trip in Europe. However I started to be interested in China after my trip to Northern China last year. China has been growing very rapidly, which somehow means the environment, as well as natural landscapes and ancient cultural sites are not being destroyed permanently. I really wish I can spend 2 months next year to have a quick glance over China, or at least part of the China, before we can hardly recognize it in the next decade. ----------------------------------- If everything go right, I should be able to quit my job sometime around June or July next year. So its my plan (not only dream!) to go for a 2-month trip in Mainland China from Jul to Sep before the new term starts. I should now write and type more Chinese, so I can improve myself and write some better travelogue next year. :) Well well well, it's 1:15am now. Shouldn't be too early to dreeam. Right?

[1] Set off from Hong Kong

Dear Vida,

Totally agree we should explore China before it turns back into a country. For me, it was just a dream.

Best wishes,
